St James Park: James Park

Last Saturday Dept: What is important is public opinion on the streets. More and more people are standing up to say that they agree with the goals and ideals of the movement: The world s financial system is broken and needs to be fixed, according to The Star. The fact that there are Occupy groups all over the world now, shows that a large number of people around the world are angry enough to take to the streets and an even larger number quietly support them. The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, and the middle class is shrinking and some members of the mainstream media are obsessed with reporting the number of people participating in Occupy Toronto and on whether there are any splinter groups. It is not important how many people are actually camped out and sleeping in St. James Park. It is not important that there are no leaders, and that there are many differing opinions. This is what democracy looks like. The march last Saturday had thousands of people from all ages and backgrounds and not all of them can camp out in the park, but they all support the aims of the Occupy movement. Many people are also coming to St. James park to talk to people there and to show their support. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
