Hine Dept: The rare car joined some of the best restored vehicles in the Pacific Northwest. But Robin's has not been restored: It has been maintained for the past 87 years with 1.5 million kilometres of travel, according to Vancouver Sun. In June, Robin Hine brought the car back to Canada after receiving it from his father and robin Hine drove his 1926 Bentley Red Label Vande Plas three-litre tourer to show at Crescent Beach south of Vancouver as one of the select owners invited to a very special collector car and motorcycle show. It was his grandfather's daily driver in England in the 1930s. Mr. Hine Sr. was an insurance broker at Lloyd's of London. Robin's father inherited the car and brought it with him to Victoria when he emigrated to Canada. Robin and his three brothers learned to drive in this car, and when the family moved back to England, the aging Bentley was repatriated to the homeland.
