David Walsh Dept: When it came time for Dan and Alice Heap to downsize in the late 1980s, the lifelong social housing and peace advocates wanted their family home to remain a hub of caring, according to The Star. Since it appeared, we have been overwhelmed with anecdotes about how Heap touched readers lives. Each day this week, we re featuring one. Today: realtor David Walsh. They were aware of the Homes First Society and its crusading work providing affordable housing for single homeless people in Toronto, so they got in touch to see if the social housing company wanted their Kensington Market home to help refugees from Latin America, recalls commercial realtor David Walsh.
