Oil And Gas Dept: Many Americans went home after companies in Calgary's oil and gas industry laid-off staff during the economic downtown in 2008, Michael Greene said, according to CBC. "What's happening is that the oil industry is picking up, appears to be much more optimistic. And so there's a lot more recruiting going on," Green said and a Calgary immigration lawyer says he sees signs that Americans who left Alberta when the recession hit are now returning.
