Liaison Program: Gray High School

Student Liaison Dept: Zhong Li just moved to P.E.I. from China two months ago and he still has to use a translator. His 16-year-old daughter goes to Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown, and last week when the weather was getting bad he checked the radio to find out if school was cancelled, but he couldn't understand it, according to CBC. "You find the odd student that's waiting at the door, or going through the banks of snow just to get to their school," said McCallum and the P.E.I. Association for Newcomers is making an effort to help immigrant parents stay informed about school cancellations and delays, so their children aren't left out in the cold. Rocio McCallum, Immigrant student liaison program coordinator for the Association for Newcomers, told News Tuesday Li isn't alone. As reported in the news.
