Polytechnic Dept: Catherine Koch, dean of the school of business at SAIT, said the school is seeing a lot of demand from that sector, according to Calgary Herald. "But also it's just a lot more complex doing business these days and with the complexity there's a lot more regulation around disclosure in financial statements and corporate disclosures and responding to a growing demand for accountants in the province, SAIT Polytechnic is offering this fall its first baccalaureate degree approved by Alberta Advanced Education and Technology. "Part of it is just a reflection of the more complex business environment we work in," she said.
