Military Museums Dept: During a speech at the event, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney voiced his criticism of the white poppy campaign, saying it is wrong for pacifists to protest a day set aside to honour Canada's war heroes, according to CBC. Kenney told the crowd gathered in Calgary on Thursday that it is inappropriate to use the poppy as a symbol for anything other than honouring those killed in the line of duty and an estimated 13,000 people gathered at The Military Museums in southwest Calgary on Thursday for the largest Remembrance Day ceremony in the city.
