Ever since President Joseph Kabila refused to step down when his mandate ended in 2016, there has been an increasingly worrisome crackdown on opposition groups and demonstrators. People in Kinshasa rally to protest President Joseph Kabila's refusal to step down despite the expiry of his mandate. Political and ethnic tensions have caused the displacement of 4.5 million people.
