Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

American voters: They have good reason to want to raise the bar, according to Toronto Star. The Iowa caucuses proved to be a wake-up call for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, and a rebuff to the Republican prince of bombast, Donald Trump. But American voters have just signaled that they want more authenticity and substance, and less complacency and bluster, from their presidential aspirants, and that not a bad thing. Many Democrats want Clinton to tack in a more progressive, energetic direction, while Republicans are increasingly questioning whether Trump can self-promote his way into the White House. On the Democratic side, Clinton eked out only a wafer-thin win, nothing more, over Bernie Sanders, the insurgent democratic socialist. These trends are healthy insofar as they widen the space for candidates to be more progressive, or at least more rationally substantial. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
