Pecking Order

: The problem with any pecking order is that some poor guy is always at the bottom, according to The Chronicle Herald. In this case, it literally is guys: single, unattached males. Families with children and other vulnerable people top the list. Because, you know, one of those guys might be a terrorist. And the vaguely shifty-looking guy I saw in the mall parking lot the other day might have had a bomb in his knapsack, too — except there not one shred of evidence to support 1. that he was shifty or 2. that he had a bomb.
