One Nova Scotia Coalition: It painted a grim picture for the future quality of life in Nova Scotia based on a declining and aging population and poor economic performance, according to The Chronicle Herald. Our collective performance for the past several decades in key economic indicators such as exports, productivity and innovation lags the rest of Canada. Ray Ivany and his fellow commissioners issued the Now or Never Report in February 2014. Meanwhile, Canada has fallen behind other countries such as Switzerland and Singapore, to name a few. COALITION The premier formed the One Nova Scotia Coalition, consisting of 12 leading Nova Scotians and the three political leaders, in June of last year and asked them to develop a plan to achieve the goals of the Now or Never Report. Clearly, if we do not pull up our socks, the provincial economy will not generate the tax revenues to sustain the services and infrastructure Nova Scotians take for granted, such as health care, education, roads and bridges.
