National Aboriginal Day Take in a traditional powwow and join in on the dancing as National Aboriginal Day is celebrated this weekend in Cape Breton. On Sunday, Membertou Heritage Park hosts traditional dancing and singing from 1 to 4 p.m., with a barbecue and children activities. You can start with a powwow at the Fortress of Louisbourg from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, with Mi'kmaq storytelling, songs and dance, and a taste of traditional aboriginal foods.
