Kenney Dept: REGINA - Saskatchewan Health Minister Dustin Duncan says federal Immigration Minister Jason Kenney's tone on health cuts for refugee claimants is "unfortunate.", according to Winnipeg Free Press. "We provide the same package of basic hospital and physician services that are typically available to Canadians," Kenney told the House of Commons on Monday and newcomer Cyrilo Simpunga, who lost his leg in a machete attack in Congo, would be facing a difficult future without a federal program that covers refugees health benefits. Simpunga is getting a new prosthetic, but others won t be as fortunate since the funding is ending. Kenney said provinces can offer more health coverage for refugee claimants if they want to, but Ottawa will not.
