Td Canada Trust: Three Quarters

Vicepresident Dept: The TD Canada Trust Boomer Buyers Report shows that three-quarters of baby boomers - born between 1946 and 1964 - in B.C. expect they will retire mortgage free, and those who do need a mortgage are trying to pay it off as early as possible, according to Vancouver Sun. The study was based on an online survey conducted by Environics Research Group, and included a total of 1,025 completed surveys, including 148 in B.C., done June 16 to 28, 2011. "It's encouraging that B.C. boomers are taking steps to ensure they will not carry a mortgage into retirement," Mike Pride, district vicepresident, TD Canada Trust, Vancouver, said in an interview.
