Gated Communities Dept: Until we start dealing with societal inequality we can expect more of the same. B.C. is a prime example: for the last eight years we had the highest rate of child poverty in the nation, while the wealthy have managed to stuff more in their pockets, according to Vancouver Sun. The rich can afford to live in gated communities and pay for private health care and schools and when will we learn? Knee-jerk reactions to cracking down on crime/riots only grease the wheels of oppression. If being tough on crime really worked, then the U.S. would be the safest place in the world to live. Although taxation is the price we pay for a civilized society, we have fallen for the tax-cut propaganda. As
reported in the news.
