Double Murderer, Refugee Status

Murders Deptt: Elvir Pobric chose not to attend his latest immigration hearing Monday in Calgary. Authorities in his homeland say he escaped from prison while serving time for the murders of two business associates in the late 90s. A convicted double murderer, determined to stay in Canada, says he'd rather die than go back to Bosnia. Pobric was stripped of his refugee status and ordered deported after he was arrested in Calgary as a Bosnian fugitive last year. As reported in the news.
