Immigration Proceedings Dept: Abraham Bahaty Bayavuge, 49, who is on a Canada Border Services Agency list of 30 suspected war criminals living in Canada, was detained in Ottawa on Thursday, according to CBC. He was reportedly living in Montreal after arriving in Canada a decade ago. Immigration officials ordered him deported before he vanished in April 2007 as Canadian officials were preparing final details for his return to Congo and a former Congo resident who the federal government suspects of war crimes will remain in custody following an Immigration and Refugee Board hearing in Montreal. Immigration and Refugee Board commissioner Yves Dumoulin said Friday that Bayavuge should be detained for at least another week because there is a risk that he will try to flee immigration proceedings. His next hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Aug.4. As
