Government Awareness Dept: This week on our blog and Twitter feed about Montreal, according to Montreal Gazette. As part of the campaign, individual businesses will be visited. There's a website and videos on a YouTube channel. No word on how much the campaign will cost but the videos are quite slick. The blog post generated an influx of comments. A sampling: SVP: speak French, bare-headed Westmount and our dry beach "Here, it pays to speak French." That's a rough translation of the French title Ici, on gagne parler fran ais of a new provincial-government awareness campaign launched recently that aims to encourage stores and small and medium-sized businesses to serve clients in French. Three Montreal neighbourhoods with high concentrations of immigrants are targeted: Chinatown, St. Laurent and C te des Neiges. As
reported in the news.
