Immigration: Neon Sign

Ovaltine Dept: The Ovaltine has operated at 251 East Hastings since 1942, and probably looks much the same as it did when it opened, according to Vancouver Sun. The inside is just as cool. The Ovaltine still has its original counter and stools, booths, and glass display cabinets. The floor is covered in battleship linoleum, and the walls feature plywood panelling that's been stained tobacco brown and there is one old restaurant on the Hastings strip that won't have to be resurrected, because it's never closed. Most Vancouverites know the Ovaltine for its landmark neon sign, which cascades down in a delightful jumble of letters underneath a swirling neon circle. As reported in the news.
