Immigration: Poignant Examples

Deerfoot Dept: The federal constituency on Calgary's southern flank is one of the most poignant examples of the city's explosive growth, and is now facing the push for services to catch up, according to Calgary Herald. In Calgary Southeast, more than three-quarters of the homes are single family dwellings. Most are owned, not rented and the suburbs in Calgary Southeast now extend well south of Highway 22X, with more than half the homes in the riding built in the last 25 years. "The whole Deerfoot to deep south corridor has grown crazy and it's all young families," said Shane Byciuk, president of the Cranston Community Association. As reported in the news.
