Lac St Louis Dept: The riding that has sparked the most attention so far is Lac St. Louis, where former senator and now Conservative candidate Larry Smith is trying to unseat longtime Liberal MP Francis Scarpaleggia, according to Montreal Gazette. But Scarpaleggia is out to prove the Tories wrong and another federal vote will take place May 2 - and for those who aren't too election weary, the West Island ridings are well worth watching. The Conservatives are hoping that Smith's platform as well as his attention-grabbing charm and high profile - he was the president and CEO of the Montreal Alouettes as well as publisher of The Gazette - will be attractive to voters.
