Occupational Health And Safety: Safety Officials

Mobile Equipment Dept: In an effort to reduce on-the-job injuries and fatalities, the first of three safety campaigns will be launched next week, with inspectors visiting numerous sites, according to CTV. Starting February 22nd, Occupational Health and Safety officials will visit workplaces throughout the province, ensuring practices are up to standard and the province is about to kick off a safety crackdown on companies that use forklifts and other powered mobile equipment. "Expect that if you have a forklift on your premises, there is a very good possibility that one of our officers will be coming in and inspecting not only the forklift, but the training that comes along with usage of the forklift," said Thomas Lukaszuk, Minister of Employment and Immigration, of the initiative. As reported in the news.
