Toronto High School Dept: Immigration authorities picked up Daniel Garcia just before Christmas. He lost a bid for release at a detention review hearing Tuesday morning, said lawyer Guidy Mamann, according to The Star. Garcia came to Canada when he was 15 with his sister Brenda Garcia, 30, who claimed refugee status and said she was persecuted in Mexico because she is a lesbian.
