Islanders Dept: About 35 immigrants are on a waiting list, according to CBC. Marilenne Urena, the program's co-ordinator, said the number of immigrants who want to participate is increasing while it's getting harder to find people willing to help and the P.E.I. Association for Newcomers is having trouble finding enough volunteers for its program that matches up immigrants with Islanders. Among them is James Jang, who arrived from Korea last year and applied for the friendship program six months ago. He says he wants to learn about local culture and speak better English. As
