Moise said he raised the issue with Vice-President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at a security conference Thursday, and he said the deportations of tens of thousands of Haitians was not what they have in mind. The Department of Homeland Security has said more than 50,000 Haitians legally living and working in the U.S. to plan to return home when their employment and residency benefits expire in January.
