Care Centre: Refugees and Winnipeg Opening

care centre: Refugees in Winnipeg opening their homes to help recent wave of asylum seekers Newcomer centre has no more room for border-crossing asylum seekers The refugees are new to Winnipeg and are from several countries including Congo and Syria, according to CBC. Catherine Biaya helped organize the event and was acting as a translator for two youth from Congo. About 40 refugees were invited by the United Way to the Odyssey Dental Care centre to get cleanings, fillings and extractions, all free of charge. They are so happy to have their teeth cleaned because it's the first time. Staff at the clinic volunteered to give dental care free of charge for the refugees. They never did that, so for them it's a great opportunity, Biaya said. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
