Canada was instructed to immediately address the gender wage gap, high rates of poverty among women, sex discrimination in the Indian Act, insufficient affordable childcare, inadequate civil legal aid and violence against women. Within two years, Canada must provide a report to the committee detailing implementation of the CEDAW Inquiry recommendations, as well as progress made in developing and implementing an effective National Gender Equality Plan.
