oonagh proudfoot: Fewer than four in 10 South Shore and Annapolis Valley candidates were women, according to The Chronicle Herald. But voters made women mayors in a third of Nova Scotia towns on Saturday. Not that many did. CBRM elected three young women, all newcomers to council: Kendra Coombes, Amanda McDougall and Earlene Mac Mullin. Newly elected to council are Wendy Elliott, Jodi Mac Kay and Oonagh Proudfoot.
