York spokesperson Janice Walls says $3,453 has been credited to Yisheng Ma student account to be used towards future tuition. "It wonderful news indeed," Ma says. Ma missed the first year of her studies at York in 2014 when she says her purse was stolen en route to China, containing all her immigration documents.
