Catholic Central High School and Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board

Jonathan Nicola: The agency claims that Nicola is actually 29 years old, not 17, according to CTV. Nicola was enrolled at Catholic Central High School where he played on the senior boys basketball team. The Canadian Border Services Agency says Jonathan Nicola was arrested this week for submitting false information on immigration documents. The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board said they were informed by CBSA officials that one of their students had been arrested. "There a palpable amount of tension in the air," Stephen Fields, the school board spokesperson, told CTV Windsor on Thursday. "People are probably very concerned about it." Fields said the board ensures that students from outside of Canada have all the proper documentation to enroll in school, which includes passports, study permits, immunization records and academic transcripts. However, when Nicola recently applied for a visitor visa to travel to the Unites States, his fingerprints matched those of an individual who had made a previous application to the U.S. using a date of birth of Nov. 1, 1986, making him 29. Standing at six-foot-nine and weighing just over 200 pounds, Nicola teammates said they wouldn't be completely surprised if he was actually older than 17. "I'm going to be honest, he don't really look like he 17," one of his teammates said. "He might look like he a little bit older, but I really believed him." Nicola submitted an application for a Canadian study permit with a date of birth of Nov. 25, 1998. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
