: Aida Farres was trained as a pharmacist and assisted in organ transplants in her native Syria but now is stuck at home in Montreal, according to Toronto Star. She told Joly she wants to find work but is struggling to get her skills recognized. At a small reception, they were not shy about raising concerns with her about their challenges accessing language training and finding jobs. Joly acknowledged the challenge and encouraged Farres to keep at it, a message the woman said she appreciated but it doesn’t make things easier.
