Canada Border Services Agency and Tigbayan

: In August 2014, after reporting to the Canada Border Services Agency for one last time as part of the terms to restore his permanent-resident status, Tigbayan moved with his family to Scarborough to get away from what he calls a bad crowd in his old downtown neighbourhood, according to Toronto Star. He said he had successfully stayed out of trouble and maintained a clean slate during his four-year probation. Little did he know the worst trouble was yet to begin. But he made a big mistake — he failed to update border officials on his change of address or have his mail forwarded to his new home. Now, Tigbayan, 28, faces deportation this month to the Philippines, a country he has not set foot in since he left with his father and two sisters a quarter of a century ago, when he was 3. On Jan. 30, 2015, Tigbayan said he was arrested at work after missing a tribunal hearing to finalize the restoration of the permanent resident status he lost after being convicted of assault when he was 18.
