Uber Canada

: The solution is to regulate and enforce, according to Toronto Star. Yes, welcome Uber but only if their drivers are bonded, vetted, properly insured and are driving vehicles that are mechanically sound – and passing through taxes. There is a very simple solution to the Uber problem but Uber Canada general manager Ian Black will, I am sure have none of it because he is too busy raking in profits at the expense of cities, consumers and, it seems, drivers – essentially giving the finger to everyone. Really, what is so hard about that – it is the City responsibility to ensure that when a Torontonian or a visitor to the city gets into an Uber vehicle that the consumer is protected. A few of these kinds of cases would, I am sure, wake up Tory to the consequences of his dithering. At the moment if one was in a serious accident in an Uber vehicle there is no insurance coverage; frankly I wouldn’t put it past an accident victim to sue not only Uber and the driver but also the City.
