: My husband and I immigrated to Nova Scotia by accident, according to The Chronicle Herald. We’re originally from Lachute, Quebec, a beautiful francophone town nestled in the foothills of the Laurentians. She won’t know the answer until she lived in Toronto for about a year. We believe it was probably the best place in the world to grow up. In 1972 we accepted an invitation to my niece wedding in Mahone Bay and flew in for the weekend. After marriage in 1965, we moved to Ottawa, the crown jewel of Canadian cities.
