mental health services: A military plane carrying 163 privately-sponsored Syrian refugees arrived in Toronto early Friday morning, according to Hamilton Spectator. Among them, four headed to Hamilton. In an announcement Friday morning, the province said the money is earmarked for language settlement services, support for women and children, access to trauma and mental health services, housing and employment help. The group, which was met by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Kathleen Wynne, were housed in a hotel by the airport and are expected to meet their sponsors Friday. Hamilton likely won't know how many refugees are headed our way until some time in the new year. Wesley Urban Ministries is one of about 30 agencies across Canada acting as regional co-ordinators for government-assisted refugees.
