Tara Bailey and Finding English Lessons

Syria: So far $30,000 have been donated to the charity but Bailey says it will take more than money to help the families make the transition to living in Canada, according to CTV. It will take volunteers to help with finding accommodation, getting kids in school, finding English lessons, teaching how to navigate the grocery store, says Bailey. Tara Bailey is part a community group in Collingwood that has started raising money to sponsor two refugee families from Syria. The Collingwood Syrian Sponsorship Fund is one of many locally based initiates in our region that are determined to help some of the millions of people displaced by the ongoing war in Syria. We are committed to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees to Canada by the end of the year. Immigration minister John McCallum says the federal government remains committed to its promise to help refugees.
