Esi Edugyan: A second-generation Canadian whose parents immigrated to Canada from Ghana, Edugyan will connect with audience members in a Q-and-A and book signing, according to The Chronicle Herald. Thursday will be hosted by writer Shauntay Grant, while Friday will be hosted by CBC Mainstreet Stephanie Domet. On Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. and Sept. 25 at 7 p.m., Edugyan will speak on the themes of immigration and Canadian identity, as well as read excerpts from her novels Half-Blood Blues, The Second Life of Samuel Tyne and Dreaming of Elsewhere: Observation on Home. We are thrilled to welcome acclaimed Canadian author Esi Edugyan to the museum for the launch of Pier 21 Reads, says Matthew Ritchie, public programs manager, in a news release. Attendees will be inspired to reflect on their own impressions of immigration, Canadian identity and the idea of home. Her works are engaging audiences locally and around the world.
