Canadian Expeditionary Force and Eramosa Puslinch

Guelph Cenotaph: The criteria for eligibility seems to have been broad, according to Guelph Mercury. Most of those whose names can be seen on the cenotaph today were residents of Guelph at the time that they enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. The names of 220 of the dead were eventually inscribed on the Guelph Cenotaph. Some had lived in Guelph all their lives. A few of those named were from outlying communities such as Eramosa and Puslinch. A substantial number were immigrants from the British Isles who had been in Guelph for only a few years when they signed up to fight for King and Country. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
