George Ling John Little Insights and Kevin Sollows

Kevin Sollows: He had this presence, according to The Chronicle Herald. Thus started a project that for Ling defined his last days as being ones of creative passion and achievement, and for Little taught him a new way to see his art and life. He got out of the car and he shoved his hand out and he said, ‘My name is George.’ I knew something was coming. Ling, a retired military man who died of cancer in 2012 at the age of 84, spent the last six months of his life photographing Little metal pieces for books produced by Kevin Sollows. The day Ling arrived, Little and his wife, Nancy, were loading wood. He and his partner, Sandy Chan, are co-curators of the exhibit George Ling + John Little: Insights, on view at the Mary Black Gallery to April 5. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
