province: For the past 10 years, CAPP has placed 100 family physicians in these communities, according to The Chronicle Herald. Last year alone, there were 16 new CAPP physicians who are now providing medical care to Nova Scotians. They might have paused to read it more closely had they realized that the end of CAPP will significantly reduce the province ability to provide family physicians to rural and underserviced parts of the province. This will now end, and almost no one has noticed. On all counts, it has been a tremendous success. We created this program to identify internationally trained physicians ready for practice in Canada, to support their transition, and to address significant physician shortages through the province.
