: W. sandwich shop owner Quentin Tran opened last October, according to Toronto Star. The shop coincidentally shares a name with ABC TV new immigrant comedy based on New York chef Eddie Huang memoir Fresh Off the Boat, about a Taiwanese family adjusting to life in Orlando, Fla., during the ‘90s. The catfish sandwich is the namesake offering at Fresh Off The Boat Seafood Joint, a Queen St. Tran, 37, and his mother came to Canada as Chinese-Vietnamese refugees when Tran was 4. It the most-popular item, up there with a fried soft-shell crab sandwich at $15.95. The blackboard menu describes the FOB sandwich as an Asian po’boy banh mi with kimchi and burned aioli — not for the timid.
