Catholic community: People from the Philippines, India and Nigeria are among the new faces in the pews. "They have tradition of attending mass on a regular basis," said Father Lorne Crozon, the church rector. "And so they're coming to church and they're really kind of adding to our numbers in the Catholic community." He also said this has provided a boon to the overall atmosphere at the cathedral. "It always easier to preach and celebrate with a full church than an empty one," Crozon said. "So it really adding something to our church celebrations." Crozon said that most of the new members are young people, so he is confident attendance will remain strong into the future, according to CBC. The church has seen seen an influx of immigrants coming to its services in recent years.
