Ferenc Domotor: He was serving a precedent-setting nine-year sentence after pleading guilty to human trafficking charges in 2012, according to Hamilton Spectator. The government took the unusual step of appealing to the Information and Privacy Commissioner to be able to publicly share news of his deportation. Ferenc Domotor, the leader of the Domotor-Kolompar criminal organization, was removed by Canada Border Services Agency officers and deported to Hungary April 10, the CBSA announced Tuesday. This decision was not made lightly, said CBSA spokesperson Antonella DiGirolamo. The announcement follows a news conference last July where Public Safety Minster Steven Blaney and the CBSA announced 20 convicted members of the criminal organization had been deported. After careful evaluation the agency determined "that the public interest was best served by the knowledge that the man who led this deplorable criminal enterprise is no longer in Canada," she said.
