McMaster University: The 19th annual Rev. John C. Holland Awards celebrated excellence and achievement of members of Hamilton black community. , according to CBC. Among the 2015 award recipients are a third-year student at McMaster University who runs the school Multicultural Committee, a 10-year member of the Hamilton Youth Steel Orchestra and a young singer-actress who is also deaf and blind. Hamilton black community is recognizing the achievements of 12 individuals and groups who have made contributions to cultural life in the city. The awards were handed out at a gala and silent auction at Michelangelo Banquet Centre in Hamilton on Saturday.
