Chris Alexander: Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander concedes he did not consult with any outside bodies before banning visitors from certain African countries battling Ebola, according to The Chronicle Herald. On Oct. 31, Alexander suspended the issuing of travel visas and permanent residence applications to people from countries with widespread Ebola infections. That meant Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia and Alexander stands by his decision, despite being accused by the World Health Organization of violating an international treaty.
