Christena Goyetche: Acting principal, Christena Goyetche welcomed students, parents and faculty in four different languages. She opened asking students what characteristics they thought were required to succeed in life, according to The Chronicle Herald. Many students were congratulated throughout the evening for these attributes, but five students in particular were presented with awards for their hard work and commitment to the school and Approximately 330 Nova Scotia Community College students walked across the stage to receive diplomas at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Friday, June 20, for the Strait Area Campus graduation. Students graduated from programs such as office administration, accounting, management, culinary arts, carpentry, electrical and many more. It is not always the top student or the wealthiest student who does well in life, Goyetche said. Researchers tell us that probably the best indicators of future success in life are attitude, grit, determination and that ability to get back on your feet, dust yourself off and move on.
