immigration levels: At a time when this province should be literally crying for new people to come and live here, in an effort to reverse our projected labour market demographics, it seems outdated attitudes about immigration are holding us back, according to The Chronicle Herald. Meanwhile, 41 per cent of the polls respondents say current immigration levels should stay the same, while 25 per cent say immigration levels are too high and Nova Scotians need a collective kick in the pants about our attitudes toward immigrants, if significant progress is to be made on rebuilding the provincial economy. A poll released this week by Corporate Research Associates suggests only 30 per cent of Nova Scotians believe rates of immigration to this province should increase.
