Sudeep Singla: Singla, a 29-year-old IT consultant, is among 12 Indo-Canadians canvassing on behalf of Indias Aam Aadmi, or Common Man, party, an upstart political force whose main platform is stamping out the rampant corruption for which India is infamous, according to The Star. Thats when Singla begins calling Indian cellphone numbers collected in markets, bus stops and school campuses by Aam Aadmis volunteers and From a strip mall on the outskirts of Pearson International Airport, Sudeep Singla is doing his best to influence the worlds largest free election, halfway around the globe. Singla arrives most evenings by about 6 at a second-floor office turned call centre in the Brampton mall. He first calls Canadians to ask for financial support for Aam Aadmis activities outside India. India does not allow dual citizenship and foreigners cannot donate money to its political parties, which means the calls to the 1.1-million-strong Indian diaspora in Canada are tantamount to a warm up.
