Ravi Kumar Vellingiri: She soon developed complications, suffering constant abdominal pain and bleeding. But as a new immigrant she was required to wait three months for Ontario health coverage. Being pregnant, she couldnt get private insurance either, said her husband, Ravi Kumar Vellingiri, according to The Star. That decision, and a crucial paperwork mistake that followed, led to baby Viwin, now 19 months old, becoming stuck in India and, so as to care for him, his mother and older brother because immigration officials have refused to issue either a visitors visa or permanent resident visa under a family sponsorship for him and Shahana Chathoth was five months pregnant when she and her older son, Cawin, arrived here in 2012 from India to join her husband under a spousal sponsorship. Faced with a potentially crushing medical bill, Vellingiri figured the best option was for the family to go back to India temporarily to get Chathoth and her unborn baby the care they needed, then return to Canada after the birth.
