Immigration and Refugee Protection Act: Canadian Border Services Officials said Paul Gestano McKenney pleaded guilty Monday to seven charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and the Criminal Code, according to CTV. The charges stem from an investigation that started in October 2009 after officials received a complaint that the signature of a deceased individual was being forged for immigration and Immigration officials said Tuesday that an Edmonton man had pleaded guilty, and been sentenced, in what they called an elaborate immigration fraud scheme. McKenney was sentenced to two years, to be served in the community his sentence includes six months of house arrest, 18 months under a curfew and 200 community service hours.
